Topic 2: Alternative Food
You might know that the safety of food has been in the news recently, especially in places like Japan. In the U.S., the big issue is GMOs. GMO stands for "genetically modified organism." Many people are skeptical about these types of food. Another issue that is especially common in the U.S. is animal cruelty. This has caused many people to become vegan or vegetarian. There is even an "alternative ice cream" shop near my apartment! I tried it, and it was good.
